Carnegie Hall’s Musical Connections at Valley Lodge

Musical Connections is a free program of the Weill Music Institute that brings musical performances to hospitals, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, and senior-services organizations. From November 2009 through April 2010, a Musical Connections songwriting workshop took place at Valley Lodge transitional housing shelter, part of the West Side Federation for Senior Housing in New York City. This documentary shares the stories and songwriting process of three workshop participants, leading up to a culminating concert for other shelter residents, family, and friends. Choice Connections is a community based Senior Housing Advisory service. Our mission is to save time and stress for seniors and their families when looking for alternate housing when home is no longer the best choice. One call saves many. We know options for assisted living, independent living, residential homes or memory care right in the South Metro. We advocate for seniors to have control and choice. Many seniors move when there’s a crisis. We advocate for seniors to know the options they would choose should they need it.
