The Mexico retirement living dream
For a lot of Americans, Mexico appears as an attractive place for retirement. There are many benefits. The fact that Mexico is close to United States means that family and friends are never far away. Buying a house in Mexico is easy and cheap, the food is good as is the weather, health care and public transportation are cheap etc.
There are numerous american retirement communities in Mexico, in cities such as Puerto Vallarta, Taxco, Oaxaca, Veracruz and others. Of course, Puerto Vallarta certainly ranks among the top of all Mexican retirement communities!
Americans retiring to Mexico can choose many types of retirement. Some come for 6 months, some others apply for working papers, typically for teaching english, and some simply apply for a “rentista” permit, and retire all year long.
